ACHD Guidelines Submitted!

Date: 2009-05-04

First of all, I congratulate Dr. Candice Silversides for her great job putting the entire document together. This was tremendous work and took her many hours and several nights of missed sleep.

Secondly, I thank all the authors of the different chapters, the section editors, and the national and international reviewers for great contributions to make this document a useful tool for the care providers. I thank also Angela Kennie, Dr. Silversides assistant and CACH Network secretary, who helped with editing and formatting the document.

The document was submitted to the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS) this morning. CCS will review the document and get back to us regarding acceptance of the document and publication. The document is not officially available until accepted by CCS.

On behalf of CACH network, I am very grateful to all contributors of the guidelines, which will be a landmark publication to improve care for adults with congenital heart disease.

Erwin Oechslin, MD, FRCPC, FESC
President,
